Next Event:MSW Race Meeting Collie 29th & 30th October
HQ Holden racing in Western Australia is celebrating its 21st birthday this year, but still continues to attract new and old blood into the category. With large grids of 20+ each meeting and the only state to run a reverse grid race, we put on some bloody exciting racing!
The cars have not changed a great deal since their racing debut - they still run the 202 "red" motor, 3 speed gearbox and non-limit slip differential. Suspension, camshaft and tyres are all controlled items. The logic behind this is to place more emphasis on driver ability and skill.
Such an iconic vehicle, racing in a competition controlled to ensure competitiveness has created a following which is steadily increasing. Spectators love watching the HQ’s rubbing doorhandles in the return to a style of racing where overtaking is possible almost anywhere on the circuit.
